个人简介
Dr. Santosh Kumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Food Engineering and Technology, Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar, India since 2011. He earned his M. Tech and PhD degrees from Department of Food Technology and Biochemical Engineering (FTBE), Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, and worked as Post-doctoral Research Fellow at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden during 2018-19. Dr. Kumar has more than 12 years of teaching and research experience in the area of Sustainable Food Packaging and Preservation. Dr. Kumar has received several awards including "Overseas Associateship Award" by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
Dr. Kumar’s current research mainly focuses on biopolymer-based composites and nanocomposites for food packaging applications, active and intelligent packaging systems, and valorization of agro-wastes moving towards a sustainable circular economy. He has authored more than 50 publications including 40 peer-reviewed journal papers, and 7 book chapters. He was the chief-editor of the books entitled "Biopolymer-Based Food Packaging: Innovations and Technology Applications" John Wiley & Sons, Inc., USA (April 2022) and “Emerging Technologies in Food Preservation”, CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, Boca Raton, FL (March 2023). He is professional member of many Scientific Societies and Institutions, and also serves as Editorial Board member of many reputed journals. Currently, he is working in following research areas:-
• Sustainable Food Packaging and Preservation
• Valorization of agro-food waste into bioplastics moving towards Circular Economy
• Edible films and coatings for food applications
• Biopolymer-nanocomposites for food and environmental applications
• Nanomaterials synthesis and their characterization
• Hydrothermal and green synthesis of nanomaterials/nanoparticles
