Bio
Total 30 years experience with 21 years in the IT industry and the rest in Telecom.
Interested in solving pressing societal issues at scale using technology.
Till date have filed more than 45 patents, 35 granted patents and have published 25 + research papers.
Some of these patents were leveraged to develop innovative mobile application that touched lives of about a million farmers and ~ 100 K lactating mothers in hinterland.
In the past, have worked in diverse areas primarily in telecom like large scale switches, Video conferencing solutions and stack development, CTI - Including IVR and call centres solutions development and mobile apps in BREW, Java, Android.
Currently working on engineering a solution to predict coronary artery disease using simple COTS sensors & rehabilitation of stroke affected people using immersive apps based on IR depth sensors. Apart from cardio vascular space also looking at solutions in area on musculo skaletal and neurological space.
Mentoring projects in healthcare area at DISQ ( joint initiative of TCS MIT and Nshik administration ) . Team demonstrated zero maternal mortality in few areas leveraging power of machine learning and local administration.
Also mentoring innovators at few other innovation accelerators (ReDX) in areas like climate change adaptation, big data and machine learning
Research interests are
Scalable solutions for masses -specially for senior citizens , lactating mothers and newborn babies in villages, innovative use of hyperspectral sensing specifically for detecting food adulteration and improving mental health of society at large.
Project worth mentioning is iconic mKRISHI project [ 2008 to 2014]. This project touched lives of about a million farmers . Played strategic role in developing and deploying this solution.
mKRISHI won many [ 14+] national / international awards. Notable one being awarded by Hon Prime minister in June 17.
