Bio
Sang Min Kim (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Kimje, South Korea, in 1974. He received the B.S. degree in control and instrumentation engineering, M.S. degree in electrical engineering, and Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from Chonbuk National University, Chonju, South Korea, in 1996, 1998, and 2003, respectively.
From 2004 to 2006, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the School of Electrical and Computer Science, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. From 2006 to 2012, he was a Senior Research Engineer with Defense R&D Center, Samsung Techwin, Changwon, South Korea. In 2012, he joined Hyundai Mobis, Yongin, South Korea, as a Principal Research Engineer. His research interests include high-performance ac motor drives for electric vehicle propulsion, position sensorless motor drives, control of the wound-field synchronous machine, multiphase motor control, and Rogowski switch-current sensor design for power conversion devices.
Dr. Kim is a Senior Member of the IEEE Power Electronics Society.
