Sandro Percario

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences - Medical Modality from Paulista School of Medicine (1989), Master's degree in Morphology from the Federal University of São Paulo - UNIFESP (1995), having developed the experimental part of the study at the Saint Michael's Hospital of the University of Toronto - Canada. Holds a PhD in Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (2000) and obtained the title of Full Professor of Science from the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto (2009). Post-Doctoral studies at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC/Atlanta-USA), studying oxidative changes in malaria vectors. Former Collaborating Professor of the Discipline of Vascular Surgery of the Federal University of São Paulo, from 2000 to 2004. Currently he is Full Professor of the Institute of Biological Sciences - ICB of the Federal University of Pará - UFPA. He is a thesis advisor in the Post-Graduate Program in Biodiversity and Biotechnology of the BIONORTE Network, in which he is the General Coordinator (2022-2026) and former State Coordinator (Pará 2020-2022). Coordinates the Oxidative Stress Research Laboratory of ICB/UFPA. Awarded the "Silver Jubilee of the Federal Concil of Biomedicine Medal" in 2008. He has experience in Biochemistry, with emphasis on Oxidative Biochemistry, working mainly on the following topics: free radicals, oxidative stress, antioxidants, malondialdehyde, nitric oxide, neurodegenerative diseases, and malaria. To date, he has 111 complete articles published in journals and more than 150 communications in scientific events.
