Bio
Dr. Sandra Pérez Solsona (female). Since February 2017, she is a researcher scientist at the Institute for Environmental Diagnosis and Water Studies (IDAEA-CSIC), in Barcelona (Spain). She has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona. Postdoctoral researcher at State University of New York at Buffalo (2003-2006). Her work is focused on studying the occurrence, distribution and degradation of pollutants in the aquatic environment. Advanced mass spectrometry techniques such as the hybrid techniques UPLC-Q ToF-MS and UPLC-Q exactive-MS for the structural elucidation of novel transformation products and metabolites (LC-QqQ-MS and LC-QLIT-MS) for the sensitive trace determination of parent compounds and their TPs in the water, terrestrial and biota samples are employed. She is recognized as international expert in the development of analytical techniques based on chromatography coupled to advanced mass spectrometry techniques. She was involved in different EU projects, NSF projects and Spanish national projects as IP. Coordinator of a PRIMA project (INWAT), Supervisor of many doctoral theses, postdoctoral fellows, masters, and TFG from Spain and Germany. She has more than 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
