Bio
My research focuses on the design and development of molecular and nanotechnology imaging tools for early diagnosis, therapeutic readout and managing cancer and other diseases. I implement multimodal imaging technologies magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), optical and focused ultrasound (FUS) to interrogate the biophysical microenvironment of a disease before, during and after treatment. I also harness magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) technologies to delineate the metabolic states of normal and diseased cells through pH, temperature, and ion sensors. By using cutting-edge technologies, I intend to 1) enable biology-guided modulation of the disease microenvironment to convert non-responders to responders, and 2), guide rational design of effective and innovative therapies, which will have outstanding impact on biological and medical sciences.
