个人简介
Dr. Zelinka has worked at the Forest Products Laboratory as a Materials Research Engineer since 2005. His research focuses on the corrosion of metals in contact with wood, transport phenomena in wood, and the thermodynamics of water in wood. As a graduate student, Zelinka developed a rapid test method for estimating the corrosion rate of metals in treated wood. Zelinka has also made contributions to the theory of electrical conduction, thermodynamics of water, and shape memory twist effect in wood. His work on theory of corrosion led to a Wood award in a PECASE award through the USDA in 2011.
Dr. Zelinka actively participates in the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), where he is the Chairman of special topic group STG 38- Corrosion in the pulp, paper, and biomass industries. He is also a voting member on several subcommittees of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
