个人简介
Hi, I'm Dr. Sami Case, an Assistant Professor at Colorado State University.
As a graduate student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, I investigated age- and sex-dependent neuronal calcium network alterations in the primary somatosensory cortex and the relationship to gait dysregulation. In my research, I used small animal neurosurgery, cutting-edge two-photon calcium imaging, neuronal network analysis, behavioural neuroscience, and molecular biology techniques.
Ancillary to research, I have taught pharmacology, neuroscience, anatomy, & physiology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have a graduate teaching certificate in neuroscience/neuroanatomy instruction, where my largest passion lies.
Outside of lab, I volunteer with Dysautonomia International, an organization that increases awareness, advocates for research and legislation, and provides support for those with dysautonomia and their loved ones. Two years ago, I founded the Kentucky Support Group for Dysautonomia International, which I continue to lead and grow!
