个人简介
Simon Y. Tang received the B.S. degree from the University of
California, Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA in 2003, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA, in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
From 2008–2012, he conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of
California, San Francisco, San Francisco, CA, USA, as an NIH-National Research Service Award (F32) fellow. Currently,
he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Washington University in St. Louis School of
Medicine, St. Louis, MO, USA, with courtesy appointments in omedical engineering as well as mechanical engineering and
materials science. He has a committed research interest in investigate disease mechanisms of musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. Tang received an award from the Program for Breakthrough Biomedical Research for his work in disc degeneration
in 2010. In 2012, he was named the John A. Haddad Young Investigator from the American Society Bone and Mineral
Research, and was named the Harold M. Frost Young Investigator from the Sun Valley Workshop on Musculoskeletal Biology.
