Bio
I got my bachelor degree in both Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and University of Michigan (Materials Science & Engineering). Now I am a PhD candidate in Prof. John Kieffer's group at the University of Michigan. I do research on computational materials science. I have a good knowledge about both materials science and electrical and computer engineering including fundamental coding and data analysis skills. I write a C++ code to simulate fractal aerogel structures and ion implantation process using Monte Carlo methods to study the improvements in the emission intensity of optical waveguides. I also develop a hybird cluster-continuum solvation model which results in more accurate values for solvation free energy calculations using molecular dynamics simulation as well as first-principles simulation. Now I am studying the interactions between rheology modifier molecules and the surface of nano-sized particles that used in paints, and using first principles quantum mechanical calculation methods to predict the structure and chemical affinities of these molecules.
