Bio
Sean Tyrrel is an environmental microbiologist at Cranfield University. Sean leads Cranfield’s work in bioaerosol science, focussing on the emission and dispersion of bioaerosol from industrial facilities and the implications for exposure and human health. He is Lead PI and Co-I respectively on two collaborative NERC bioaerosol projects commencing in 2015 funded under the Environmental Microbiology and Human Health programme. Sean was the science lead for Defra consortium project WR1121 on Bioaerosols and Odour Emissions from Composting Facilities (2011-13) and Principal Investigator for NERC project NE/E008534/1 on Endotoxin Emissions from Composting Facilities (2007-9). He is recognised nationally and internationally for this work through his appointment UK Principal Expert to the CEN committee CEN/TC264/WG28 on bioaerosol measurement in ambient air.
