个人简介
Søren Rysgaard received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in biology
from the University of Aarhus, Aarhus, Denmark, in 1991 and 1995, respectively.
He is a Professor and Canada Excellence Research Chair in Arctic geomicrobiology and climate change with the
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. He is a Scientific Leader with Arctic Science Partnership (ASP) and the
Founding Director of Greenland Climate Research Centre (Greenland), Arctic Research Centre (Denmark). He led several
large science projects in the arctic (NOG, CAMP, Anoxia, Sea Ice dynamics, FreshLink, GCRC, and ASP campaigns) and
initiated two long-term marine monitoring programs (High- and Sub-arctic). He is the author/coauthor of over 150
publications on arctic and biogeochemical processes (
$H = 41$).
He has supervised 16 Master's students and 22 Ph.D. students. His research interests include marine microbiology
and biogeochemistry in Arctic sea ice, ocean, and sediments; understanding carbon and nutrient cycling in Arctic marine
ecosystems, sea ice processes, and glacier–fjord–ocean interactions; and global change.
