Dr. Satyabrata Mohapatra is presently working as Professor (Associate) at University School of Basic & Applied Sciences, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India. Dr. Mohapatra obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, India. After completing Postdoc from Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi, India, Brain Korea Visiting Scientist from SAINT, Suwon, South Korea and Visiting Fellow from CSNSM, Orsay, France he joined Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India in 2008 where he is currently heading the Multifunctional Nanomaterials Laboratory.
Dr. Mohapatra is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, India. His excellent research credentials are reflected by his more than 130 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, one edited book, two book chapters and over 110 papers presented/published in International/ National conferences. Dr. Mohapatra has been included in the World's Top 2% Scientists in Applied Physics with Global Rank # 1397 and ranked 29th among Indian Scientists by Stanford University, USA. He is an Editor of NANO, Editor of Materials Open, Associate Editor of "Nanocatalysis" speciality section of "Frontiers in Nanotechnology", Associate Editor of "Nanoscience" section of "Frontiers in Chemistry", Section Editor of "Current Nano-Toxicity and Prevention" and Editorial Board Member of International journals: Recent Patents in Nanotechnology and General Chemistry. He is a recipient of DST Young Scientist Award (2008), Best Researcher in Science Award (2014), Faculty Achievement Award (2016) and Faculty Achievement Award (2021) and has been included in Top 10% highly cited authors in Royal Society of Chemistry physical portfolio journals. He has been working as a reviewer for over 100 international journals of repute. His research is focused on the development of multifunctional hybrid nanostructures, 2D materials and metal oxide semiconductor based hybrid plasmonic nanostructures and nanocomposite coatings and their ion beam engineering for applications in photocatalysis, catalysis, gas sensing, SERS, biosensing, antimicrobials and water purification.
