Bio
Stephen Chad Kanick received the B.S. degree from West Virginia University, Morgantown, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, in 2004 and 2008, respectively, all in chemical engineering.
Since 2008, he has been with the Department of Radiation Oncology, Center for Optical Diagnostics and Therapy, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where he has been currently engaged in developing novel techniques to improve the accuracy of quantitative reflectance and fluorescence devices that are utilized for tissue diagnostics and for monitoring of photodynamic therapy. His Ph.D. thesis was focused on the use of elastic scattering spectroscopic measurements to quantify the pharmacokinetics of optically active drugs in tissue in vivo.
