He teaches academic courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Biophysics, Biomechanics, Biomechanics of Sport and Clinical Biomechanics.
His research interests are in the broad areas of movement science of different human motor activities (eg. walking, stairs climbing, running, jumping, turning, slopes running, squatting) in sports and physiotherapy; in normal and pathological cases. More recently, his research has begun to focus on using PCA and other discriminant analysis methods to establish a multidimensional index of movement quality. He also cooperates with coaches and conducts movement analysis research in cycling, table tennis, synchronized swimming, gymnastics and team sports.
Prof. Winiarski is an active member of the Polish Society of Biomechanics, the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) and the European Society of Movement Analysis of Adults and Children (ESMAC).
