Stuart Taylor, Chair of Medical Imaging at UCL, is a leading UK academic radiologist, with an international reputation for gastrointestinal imaging research, notably MR imaging of Crohn’s Disease. He has over 370 peer review articles and attracted >£6M in competitive, non-commercial grant income as chief investigator. Via multi-centre, cross-disciplinary, pragmatic trials, his research evaluates high technology imaging platforms within NHS practice. With most of his funding via the NIHR, his work reacts directly to NHS priorities and frequently impacts on influential national/international practice guidelines including the British Society of Gastroenterology consensus guidelines on the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation guideline for diagnostic assessment in IBD His work on MRI in Crohn,s disease was selected as one the impact case studies for REF2021 by the UCL Division of Medicine.
