My research interests lie broadly in statistics, machine learning, and optimization. I like to think about problems from different angles: applied, computational, theoretical. And I love to learn about interesting problems from other disciplines! I am an associate professor in the Department of Statistics and the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University. In the fall of 2011, I was lucky enough to join Carnegie Mellon University as a faculty member. I obtained my Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University in 2011, under the supervision of Jonathan Taylor. Prior to that, I obtained my B.S. in Mathematics and minor in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2007.
