His strong interests in gene therapy lead him to the Salk Institute in San Diego where he contributed significantly to the development of safe, clinically acceptable lentiviral vectors (1996 to 1998).
In Lausanne, Dr. Zufferey has focused his research on gene delivery related to Parkinson’s disease. Among other academic distinctions, Dr. Zufferey was awarded the young investigator award of the American Society for Gene Therapy in 1998.
