Rodrigo Tomassini

I obtained my Ph.D. in 2012 at the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina), which was carried out through two doctoral grants of the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET). I also obtained a post-doctoral grant (2012-2014) of CONICET. Since 2014 I am a permanent researcher of CONICET, actually as Associate Researcher. Since 2012 I hold a position as Teaching Assistant at the Departamento de Geología, Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). My main line of research, which I have followed since the beginning of my scientific career, has focused on the taphonomy of continental vertebrate from the Cenozoic, with the aim of understanding the origin and paleoecological features of the assemblages as well as the mechanisms that favored the formation of the fossiliferous sites. Part of this main research was particularly oriented to the study of mammal assemblages from the late Pleistocene-Holocene of different regions of the World, in order to understand how past communities were affected by the climatic and environmental changes -and the influence of the human activity in this phenomenon- and, on this basis, to interpret possible responses of modern communities to the current Global Warming
