Bio
Rod Augur was born in Sheffield, England. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics and the M.Sc. in applied optics from Imperial College, London, U.K., and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Cambridge University, Cambridge, U.K. He has 24 years of industry experience in CMOS and ASIC BEOL architecture, integration, reliability and packaging design, design-technology co-optimization, advanced materials research, and Silicon Photonics. He was with Philips Research, International Sematech, AMD and GlobalFoundries. He is currently a Principal Member of the Technical Staff with GlobalFoundries Fab8, Malta, NY, USA, where he is part of the Silicon Photonics Technology Development team. Dr. Augur is a GlobalFoundries master inventor.
