Bio
I am a researcher at the University of Padova (Italy). My research currently focuses on different aspects of Raman /SERS spectroscopy:
- Characterization of the enhancement performance of plasmonic substrates, in view of their application as chemical sensors.
- Use of SERS as a probe of the local field to investigate the structure – property relation between the morphology and the near/far field optical properties of plasmonic substrates.
- Characterization of carbonaceous and polymeric materials.
In addition, the excited state polarizabilities of organic molecules (squaraines) has been investigated in collaboration with a computational chemistry group.
Previous research subjects include:
- femtosecond time resolved spectroscopy of organic molecules characterized by a charge transfer process (transient absorption and time correlated single photon counting).
- Model calculation of the nonlinear optical properties of charge transfer dimers, based on the Pariser-Pople-Parr description.
