Bio
My main activity is focused on the dissection of the human humoral response directed against different human pathogens. My work is based on the biological and molecular characterization of human neutralizing monoclonal antibodies directed against JCV, HCV, HIV and flu virus, in order to use them for therapeutic usage or for the formulation of innovative vaccines. Recently, another branch of my research concerns the usage of different NGS platforms (Illumina and Nanopore) to increase the knowledge about viral and bacterial drug resistance and virulence genes. I focused on the analysis and the understanding of the role of HCV variants at different frequencies in patients with DAA-treatment failure through the development of a robust pipeline for an accurate variant calling analysis. Another analyzed focus is the identification of possible new virulence genes or resistance genes on bacterial genome through the implementation of whole genome sequencing with variant calling analysis.
