Bio
ROBERT LAMBERTS is a full professor in Sport and Exercise Science. He works at Stellenbosch University within the Division of Movement Science and Exercise Therapy (MSET), Department of Exercise, Sport and Lifestyle Medicine. Within MSET he is the head of research, while is is also the departmental chair for the committee for postgraduate research (MSc and PhD)
In addition, he holds an honorary professorship at the Division of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine (ESSM) at the University of Cape Town (Cape Town South Africa) and a guest professorship at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany
His main field of expertise focuses on monitoring, predicting and fine-tuning prescription in high-performance cycling. In addition, he conducts clinical research on healthy aging in adults with cerebral paslsy.
He has published over a 100 international peer-reviewed scientific articles and has a H-index of 25. He is a board member and Fellow at the European College of Sport Science (FECSS) and the developer of the LSCT (a submaximal cycle test to monitor and predict cycling performance).
In addition to his research work, he is active as a coach and exercise physiologist consultant for well-trained to elite and world-class cyclists and rowers.
