For the past thirty years Dr. Levy’s research interests have been concerned with the pathophysiology of biomaterials used in medicine. His bioprosthetic heart valve research has investigated the failure mechanisms of biomaterials used in these devices. His other research programs have addressed both basic mechanisms and novel therapies concerning heart valve disease, arterial angioplasty, local drug delivery, and innovative directions for nanomedicine.
His research interests are the pathophysiology of biomaterials used in medicine, basic mechanisms and novel therapies for heart valve disease, arterial angioplasty, local drug delivery, and nanomedicine. He also has experience over three decades in medical device development.
