Bio
Rizwan Akram (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of EMU, Cyprus, in 1997, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. He contributed as a Guest Scientist in a multinational project in the field of applied superconductivity at Forschugszentrum Juelich, from 2000 to 2003. From 2005 to 2006, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Applied Superconductivity Laboratory, Izmir institute of Technology, and Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. From 2006 to 2008, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Advanced Research Laboratory, Department of Physics, Bilkent University. From 2008 to 2011, he served as an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan. He has been associating with Nanomagnetics Instruments Ltd., U.K., as a Research Collaborator, since 2006, where he contributed positively for the development of different inventions in the field of scanning probe microscopy. Since 2011, he has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. He is the author of more than 100 articles in international journals and conferences and holds more than four patents. His research interests include high temperature superconductors, superconducting electronics, organic semiconductors, semiconductor-based magnetic sensors, scanning probe microscopy systems, nondestructive systems, remote sensing, and automatic control system designs and applications.
