RESEARCH INTERESTS
Genetics: WGS, WES, Structural variation, tandem repeats, alternative splicing, eQTLs, mQTLs, disease association, transcription, DNA topology
Epigenetics: DNA methylation, epigenomics, disease association, gene expression, functional regulatory elements, development, imprinting
Proteomics: Protein cellular localisation, Chromatin Immuno-Precipitation
My experience spans the spectrum of modern day biomedical research from genetics, genomics and epigenetics to functional protein analysis. I have acquired essential attributes of a 21st century genomicist from intricate laboratory-based techniques including stem cell research and genome editing technologies (CRISPR/cas9) to the usage of complex computational tools and software analysis for data normalization, statistical analysis and discovery. I have forged ongoing collaborations with established institutions (Harvard University, Stanford University, Nijmegan University, Manchester University) as well as within the research centers I have worked in.
Outside of academia, I have gained valuable experiences in leadership and project management as leader of the genetic variability platform at Oryzon Genomics responsible for a team of scientists and students in multiple independent projects.
