Richard S. Whittle received an M.A. and M.Eng. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2011, and an M.Sc. in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University in 2017. He is a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, where his research interests focus on bioastronautics and human performance, and in particular investigating the impact of altered gravity environments on the cardiovascular system through a combination of modeling, experimentation, and machine learning. Prior to this, he was a British Army Officer for a number of years; a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he served with both The Parachute Regiment and The Corps of Royal Engineers, including operationally in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
