Bio
Since 2008, Dr. Chapman has been a research scientist with the University of Texas at Dallas specializing in thin film transistors. Between 2000 and 2007 Dr. Chapman was a consultant for Texas Instruments on CMOS transistor technology.
From 1980-1998, Dr. Chapman worked at Texas Instruments on the development of silicon transistors for digital integrated circuits. At the end of 1998, he retired from Texas Instruments after having been a TI Senior Fellow in the Silicon Technology Development group of Texas Instruments for several years. His specialty was CMOS transistor development for application to logic circuits. He was responsible for transistor design for TI's first 0.8um and 0.5um processes for CMOS MOSFET transistors. During 1991-1992 he was responsible for the 0.35um CMOS design for TI’s MMST program using rapid thermal processing of single wafers. During 1993-1995, he was responsible for transistor design for TI's 0.35um CMOS process for microprocessors and DSPs. In 1996, Dick was in charge of a TI joint Dallas/Japan R&D project on sub-0.1um CMOS including replacement gate transistors.
