Ricardo Carrion

Ricardo Carrion, Jr. received the B.S. degree in biology from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, in 1993, the M.S. degree in biology from the University of the Incarnate World, San Antonio, TX, USA, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree in microbiology and immunology from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, in 2003. He is currently a Professor and the Director of Maximum Containment Contact Research, Texas Biomedical Research Institute, San Antonio. His research interests focus on the study of hemorrhagic fever viruses and to advance the development of vaccines, therapies, and diagnostic techniques for these agents. He has developed Novel Nonhuman Primate Models for both Hemorrhagic Fever viruses and Encephalitis Virus.
