His key areas of research are brachytherapy and gynaecological cancers. In the past two years, he has completed a Dutch Cancer Society clinical fellowship at the University Medical Center Utrecht and the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam. He gained additional expertise in the field of brachytherapy for rectal cancer at McGill University in Montreal (Canada). It was his involvement in the international EMBRACE study that led to joint projects with MedUni Vienna (Kathrin Kirchheiner). As part of the GEC-ESTRO GYN project, he worked together with Max Schmid and Nicole Nesvacil on a target volume concept for vaginal and endometrial cancer.
