Bio
Peter's group does research in nociception and pain, focusing on the primary afferent neuron, its tranducers, ion channels and GPCRs, using single-fiber and patch-clamp electrophysiology, calcium imaging and neuropeptide release measurements. Their current projects are mechanisms of painful diabetic polyneuropathy, the selective channeling of drugs through TRP channels, and their ROS-mediated photosensitivity. A new funded project is to study mechanisms of cholestatic pruritus.
