Bio
Rebecca is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosciences at Durham University. Her research focuses on the ageing intestine. She obtained her PhD from Imperial College, London, and subsequently studied host-pathogen interactions using the Drosophila model in Marc Dionne’s lab at King’s College, London. She applied this expertise to the context of the aging animal during further postdoctoral training in David Walker’s lab at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work aims to build an understanding of the complex interplay between the host immune system, the microbiota and the intestinal barrier and how this influences the ageing process.
