Raymond Kasei holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Mathematics, an M.Phil. in Physics and Meteorology and B.Sc. Physics from the University of Bonn, Germany, University of Cape Coast, Ghana / Wageningen University-Holland and University of Cape Coast-Ghana respectively. He also holds Certificate level qualifications in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) & Adaptation Academy Foundation Course (Oxford University, UK); Climate Change in the Baltic (Rostock University, Warnemünde, Germany). Dr. Kasei is a senior researcher and lecturer who combines subject matter expertise in Hydrology, Climate Change and Modelling for Research, teaching and development. He holds significant skills and experience in advanced program and project management. By establishing effective partnerships with educational as well as international development institutions, policy makers and civil society stakeholders across Africa, he has had major impacts on improving skill sets, practices and policies that have built capacities of communities and institutions. Dr. Kasei is widely published in Climate Change and Hydrology and has extensive field experience. He is the recipient of the 2016 Global Innovation Competition (GIC) Winner’s Award. He has served as a member of the European Drought Committee (EDC). He contributes to the UNFCCC and the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change Process being nominated by Ghana. He is also a nominated negotiator for Ghana at Conference of Parties (COP) of UNFCCC sessions. As a Climate Scientist and Hydrologist by training, Dr. Kasei began his over 15 year career as a Senior Research Officer with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Ghana. His work was instrumental in improving the Volta Basin Resources and Ecosystem Nexus for populations in arid and semi-arid regions of Ghana and Burkina Faso most especially, through intensive research, capacity building and sensitization of communities for sustainable development and natural resource management activities. His achievements also included the development of the Volta Basin Water Simulation Model and leading the monitoring and evaluation system team to assess the hydrological dynamics of the Volta Basin under the changing climate
