Research interests: endocrine surgery, thyroid cancer diagnosis, quality of life in thyroid cancer survivors, and quality improvement in thyroid cancer surgery
Dr. Raymon Grogan is associate professor and chief of endocrine surgery at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Originally from Orlando, FL he completed his general surgery residency at Stanford University in Palo Alto California, and followed this with a fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. His first faculty job was at the University of Chicago where he also completed a fellowship in Clinical Medical Ethics and received his Master of Science with a focus on Public Health and Biostatistics.
An accomplished author and researcher, Dr. Grogan has published several peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and is the editor of a book on endocrine surgery. He is also a co-author on several national guidelines.
Dr. Grogan’s research has encompassed many aspects of endocrine surgery including life expectancy after a thyroid cancer diagnosis, quality of life in thyroid cancer survivors, and quality improvement in thyroid cancer surgery. Most recently he has focused his research on Transoral Endocrine Surgery and the link between thyroid cancer and the microbiome.
