个人简介
I am a Lecturer in Prehistory at the Complutense University of Madrid.
My research focuses on two main pillars: protohistoric archaeology and the application of digital methods. Focused on identities, power and landscape in the Iron Age, I completed my PhD at Complutense University (Spain) with the highest qualification and the mention of being a European Doctor. Prior to this, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in History, specialised in Prehistory, and a Master's Degree in Geographic Information Technologies at the same University. Both equipped me with the skills necessary for theoretical, methodological and technical aspects of archaeological research. Before beginning my doctorate, I worked for 20 months as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Archaeology in Mérida (CSIC), focusing on landscape and territory research lines, expanding my practical and technical knowledge of both methods of archaeological survey and excavation, and historiographical research.
The study of Protohistory is central to my career. For 16 years, I was an active member of the Numantia Research Archaeological Team, led by Dr Alfredo Jimeno. Additionally, between 2009 and 2017, I was the Numantia fieldwork supervisor and the post-excavation manager at Complutense University’s Prehistory Lab, leading groups of up to 60 volunteers and students. My first-hand practical experience in archaeology encompasses more than 20 archaeological campaigns from the Middle Palaeolithic to the Spanish Civil War, including collaboration at the Research Support Centre of Archaeometry and Archaeological Analysis (C.A.I. A.A.A.) as a trainee Research Assistant. For almost 4 years, I was a postdoctoral Research Associate in Digital Humanities at Lancaster University, which has allowed me to expand my knowledge of digital technologies and learn applications of Machine Learning and Big Data for archaeological research. I was also a teaching assistant at the University of Edinburgh and a María Zambrano Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Salamanca.
I am a member of the UCM Institute of Feminist Studies and the research groups:
- Research Group in Prehistoric Archaeology (GIAP) of the Complutense University of Madrid
- Research Group in Prehistoric Studies in the Iberian Peninsula (PREHUSAL) of the University of Salamanca.
