Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr. Ramzi Messahel is a Developer/Research Engineer at Dassault Systèmes SE (Simulia). He was an Assitant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Al Ghurair University, Dubai, United Arab Emirates and previously a Postdoctoral Researcher in Mechanical Engineering the Dept. of Aeronautics, Energetics and Propulsion, Institut Supérieur et de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace (ISAE-SUPAERO), Université de Toulouse, France.
At AGU, he conducted research and teaching activities in the fields of scientific computing, fundamental Mechanics and applied Mathematics. At ISAE-Supaero, he worked on improving the efficiency of explicit time-integration methods through the development of explicit asynchronous time-integration methods in a massively parallel framework and on the assessment of the capabilities of RANS/URANS turbulence models to accurately represent the ZNMF pulsed-jets induced effects by the means of reduced-order modeling (ROM) implemented through source terms formulations. In 2011, He concluded the five years Master degree in the Mathematical Engineering program of the University of Lille, France. In 2016, He obtained the grade of Doctor in "Fluid Mechanics" from the University of Lille, France, where he conducted research on "Fluid-Structure Interaction and Shock waves impact on complex structures". While pursuing his academic years, he had the privilege to teach Bachelor and Master degree students, supervise scholar project and train junior engineers.
His masters in applied mathematics followed by a PhD and Postdoctoral research in Mechanical Engineering were a key factor in building and capitalizing strong scientific knowledge in several Mechanical Engineering’s branches. The integration of these principles between fluid and structural mechanics, their interactions, the aerodynamics as well as computational mechanics allowed him to develop strong analytical skills, adapt to Multiphysics environments while keeping a critical thinking and a flexible mindset. This gain of competence was reinforced by academic and industrial collaborations, not only at national but International levels. These collaborations led to successful applications of applied and theoretical concepts into real-life and challenging industrial environments.
