Bio
Ramin Bighamian received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 2008 and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA, in 2017. He was a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Southern California, CA, USA, from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, he held a position as an Assistant Professor in mechanical engineering with George Mason University, VA, USA. Since 2019, he has been a Biomedical Engineer with the Division of Biomedical Physics in the Office of Science and Engineering Laboratories, Center for Devices and Radiological Health, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, leading research efforts within the Interoperability and neurology programs. His research interests include the application of mathematical modeling, controls and system identification, signal processing and machine learning in evaluation of patient monitoring, and physiologic closed-loop controlled technologies.
