Bio
I am interested in microbial technology and marine genomics, more specifically the evolution of Vibrio bacteria, particularly those associated with shellfish, as Vibrio species can cause disease in shellfish. I would like to work on the dynamics of Vibrio populations and the overall microbial communities within the shellfish aquatic environment in relation to disease events and changes in abiotic factors of ecosystems. My long-term research interests involve whole-genome mapping through transcriptomics and metagenomics approaches and the development of a species-specific identification of marine organisms in specific ecosystems.
