Bio
Rajendra Kumar Jenamani received the Masters (Mathematics) and
Postgraduation (Computer Science) and Ph.D. (Mathematics) degrees from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, India, in 1989,
1990, and 2002, respectively.
In 2003, he joined the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi, India, as a Professional Meteorologist. He is
currently Head of the Met Watch Office, IGI Airport, IMD, Delhi. His is engaged in real-time operational weather
monitoring and forecasting, early warning of heat/cold wave, cyclone, heavy rainfall, monsoon, etc., and aviation
weather services, especially thunderstorms and fog. His current research interests include climate data analysis to
understand the effect of different environmental parameters for the occurrences of different weather events, their
formation and dissipation.
Dr. Jenamani has been awarded with the “Young Scientist Award of the MoES in 2007” for his contribution
in the development of fog early warning system.
