Professor in the Department of Cell Biology, Embryology and Genetics at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Southern Brazil) and Co-head of the Laboratory of Immunology Applied of Aquaculture (LIAA). My research interests go beyond the study of invertebrate-microbe-environment interactions in marine species of commercial value (penaeid shrimp and bivalve mollusks). I am particularly interested in Marine Biotechnology and host defense antimicrobial peptides (AMPs).
