Bio
I am particularly interested in the design and characterization of (nano) fluorescent materials to develop new probes for multi-modal imaging. My main area of expertise is physical chemistry. I'm an expert in photophysics and fluorescence imaging. I currently develop 3 research topics: (1) spectroscopic studies of hindered fluorophores (BODIPY) for solid state emission - (2) development of nanometric assemblies (polymers) for (bio)imaging - (3) development of sensitive surfaces for Biology or energy applications. Since I wish to focus more on this last topic, I have joined SYSTEMAE group at Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d'Orsay in Jan. 2020 and I supervise 3 PhD students.
Previously I did my research in the Supra- and Macromolecular Photophysics and Photochemistry lab (PPSM UMR8531) @ENS Cachan (now ENS Paris-Saclay). Since 2014 I am Full Professor @Paris-Saclay University and ISMO UMR8214 (NanoBioPHys group 2014-2019). Since 2016 I am in charge of the Master Degree in Chemistry@U. Paris-Saclay (6 M1 and 11 M2) [40 hours teaching duty reduction service].
Since Nov. 2020, I am Deputy Director of the Graduate School in Chemistry @U.Paris-Saclay. My mission is more specifically focused on student and life-long training as well as employability. I believe that internationalisation and training by research are essential tools.
I teach (in french or in english) over 160 hours a year, from L1 to M2, in mineral, general and chemistry-physical chemistry. To my opinion experimental practice is very important, that's why I design new practical courses almost every year (mainly about nano-chemistry & photophysics). I am interested in chemistry at the origins of life, I develop courses at the interface with biology. I have participated in the writing of education books (3). I do pay attention to teachers life-long training and to the link between high school and university. When my different duties allow me to do so, I contribute to popularization and communication actions (actions towards a young public in a situation of disability).
