Professor Chambers has a longstanding interest in the identification of the key signalling pathways and transcriptional networks underlying the abnormal tissue injury response to acute and chronic lung injury. This research programme is based within the clinical settings of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pulmonary fibrosis and airway remodelling and integrates fundamental studies in human cell, tissue and disease model systems through to early translational studies in humans. Professor Chambers’ group encompasses an active and dynamic mix of scientists, clinician scientists and PhD students.
