个人简介
I recently completed a postdoc appointment at the University of Colorado, Boulder in conjunction with the National Institute of Standards and Technology. I helped create some of the first microfabricated atomic vapor cells designed specifically for strontium, an alkaline earth atom, for the purpose of introducing narrower atomic transitions. We anticipate the work to make an impact in the field of portable atomic clocks.
I finished two separate appointments as a visiting scholar student (Sept.-Dec. 2019 and March 8th - March 20th, 2020) at the University of Western, Australia in Perth, Australia with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems under the joint guidance of Dr. Michael Tobar and Dr. Jay Sharping. We investigated the influence of the thermal Casimir force and its exciting applications to develop arbitrary topological mechanical oscillators in the field of optomechanics. I have been invited back to further develop the research and platform to study the thermal Casimir effect and how we can harness its exciting applications!
I worked and studied as a graduate physics student at the University of California, Merced resulting in a doctoral degree in cavity optomechanics. Our group focused on achieving high quality factor and strongly-coupled microwave superconducting radio frequency cavities for the purpose of macroscopic interactions between light and matter.
I graduated with a B.S. in Physics while also fulfilling requirements for a B.S. Applied in Physics as well as a Minor in Mathematics. During the summers of 2011-2015, I had the opportunity to attend Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a summer student / student engineer to increase my knowledge in Optics, Laser Applications, Photonics, LabVIEW, and MATLAB programming.
