Ricardo Simões Santos holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Aveiro, where he is also a member of the research unit on Competitiveness, Governance and Public Policy (GOVCOPP). He has previously completed the cycle of Advanced Studies Program in Sustainable Energy Systems, from MIT Portugal Program, between Lisbon University (ISEG/IST) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a MSc in Management and Industrial Strategy from Lisbon University (ISEG), as well as a MEng in Electrical Engineering from Lisbon Polytechnic Institute (ISEL). He also did a post-graduation course on Electronic, Robotics and Automation Industrial Systems (ISEL) and Project Management (ISEG). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Lisbon University (ISEG), and in Electrical Engineering (ISEL). He has worked as a quality management consultant and previously on Energy Systems, mainly related with energy production from renewable resources. Currently is working on a Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Systems Lab, as well as in IT Systems Management. He has a special interest on areas such as Industrial Engineering and Management , Project Management, Decision Making, Soft Computing, Sustainable Development Systems, where he has participated as a fellow researcher, in R&D projects with Portuguese and European founding.
