Roman V. Shapovalov received the M.Sc. degree in nuclear physics from Kharkiv State University, Kharkiv, Ukraine, in 1997, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics from Idaho State University, Pocatello, ID, USA, in 2012 and 2016, respectively. From 2017 to 2019, he was with the Extreme State Physics Laboratory, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA, as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate, where he was involved in the development of the modern LTD-based systems, HADES, and LASSIE. He is currently a Research Fellow with the Plasma, Pulsed Power, and Microwave Laboratory, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. His current research interests include pulsed-power technologies, high-power microwave generation, and x-pinch / z-pinch physics.
