个人简介
The focus of my research is the application of neuroscience/neurology to practical solutions that confer neuroprotection. Understanding the mechanisms by which neurons survive within the penumbra following interventions in cell-cell communication, modulation of systemic and focal brain temperature, and modulation of abnormal EEG electrographic activity – which are key components in adverse outcomes for neurological patients – allows us to develop new therapeutic tools for the treatment of asphyxic, ischemic and traumatic brain injuries in hospital and field settings, providing a blue-print for development of more effective biotechnological solutions to treat neurological emergencies.
