Roberto Maurizio is a scientist at General Atomic in San Diego, where he investigates the complex physics of the plasma edge at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility—the largest active fusion experiment in the U.S. His work includes experiments to improve power exhaust performance in future fusion devices, conducting high-fidelity simulations with the SOLPS-ITER code, and serving as Physics Operator for the DIII-D tokamak.
