Bio
Richard C. Elphic is a planetary scientist with interest in the delivery of water and other volatiles to the terrestrial planets. He is an expert in neutron spectroscopy and was a member of both the Lunar Prospector and Mars Odyssey gamma ray/neutron teams. For LADEE he served as the Project Scientist with primary responsibility for the Science Mission's success. As one of the Chairs of the Science Operations Working Group he led both the strategic science campaign and was involved in the day-to-day instrument planning and analysis. Prior to LADEE Dr. Elphic was a staff scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He earned his Ph. D in Geophysics and Space Physics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
