Ramón Agüero

Ramón Agüero (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree (Hons.) in telecommunications engineering from the University of Cantabria, in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree (Hons.), in 2008. Since 2016, he has been the Head of the IT Area (the Deputy CIO) with the University of Cantabria. He is currently a Professor with the Communications Engineering Department, University of Cantabria. He has supervised six Ph.D. students and over 80 B.Sc. and M.Sc. thesis. He is a main instructor in networks and traffic modeling courses at the B.Sc. and M.Sc. levels. His research interests include future network architectures, especially regarding the (wireless) access part and its management. He has published more than 230 scientific papers in such areas. He is also a regular TPC member and a reviewer on various related conferences and journals. He has been serving on the editorial board for IEEE Communication Letters (an Area Editor, since 2023), IEEE Open Access Journal of the Communications Society, IEEE Systems Journal, and Wireless Networks (Springer).
