Bio
Mr. Junle Qu is a Distinguished Professor and Director of the Center for Biomedical Photonics at the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a Distinguished Professor of Shenzhen Pengcheng Scholars, and a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), Optical Society of America (Optica), and Chinese Optical Society (COS).
He graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1992 with a B.S. degree in Electronics, Ion and Vacuum Physics, and received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physical Electronics from Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995 and 1998, respectively, and then he was engaged in a post-doctoral fellowship at Indiana University in the U.S.A. in 2001-2003. He joined Shenzhen University in July 2003 and has been working in the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering since then.
Dr. Qu's research interests include multimodal nonlinear optical imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging, super-resolution optical imaging, nanobiophotonics technology, and light-induced therapy. He has developed innovative methods for biomedical optical imaging and nonlinear in situ induced photodynamic therapy, resulting in over 600 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Light Science & Applications, Nano Letters, Advanced Science, Advanced Materials, Chemical Society Reviews, Chem, Laser & Photonics Reviews, and Optics Letters.
He serves as the Director of the Biomedical Photonics Committee of the Chinese Optical Society and is an Associate Editor of Biomedical Optics Express and Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences (JIOHS). Additionally, he currently serves on the editorial board of Frontiers of Optoelectronics, Chinese Laser, Biosensors, and Acta Optica Sinica. To date, Dr. Qu has been authorized more than more than 100 invention patents, with 18 patents transferred.
